Meet Sam Speaker, a sophomore English major who is mentoring first-year students in Ken Atkinson’s Humanities I course. Sam became a peer mentor because she enjoys helping students who may be afraid to ask for help. Sam highly recommends to other UNI students to consider becoming a peer mentor because not only is it beneficial for first year students, but the peer mentors gain a lot too.
