Employment with ITS
Are you looking for a great job with lots of practical experience to add to your resume? Are you interested in a
job that makes a big difference to thousands of students each
year? Are you an individual who wants to work with people and learn about technology?
Most importantly, do you want a job that is right next door to your college classes?
If you answer "YES" to any of these questions, then ITS is looking for you.
ITS-User Services employs around 50 students each year as Student Computer Center (SCC) Customer Service Assistants.
These assistants work in the eight staffed public computer centers throughout the UNI campus, so it’s easy to go to school and then to
work.
Assistants make an impact on the education of many students by providing them with some much appreciated computer assistance
as needed. Other duties include reporting equipment problems and making sure that the Student Computer Centers run smoothly.
Assistants gain great experience through their work with computers and they learn important customer service skills that
help them in the future. The job is a great experience for all majors. Computer training is given to all assistants working
for ITS.
ITS - User Services hires assistants around the beginning and end of each semester. We look for people who are reliable,
have good communication skills, enjoy working with people, and are developing their computer knowledge. For those who have
advanced customer service experience and computing knowledge, other positions are available in the Consulting Center and other
ITS Offices as well.
If you are interested in applying for any of these positions, pick up an application at the office in Baker 13. You may also print an application from your own computer or call Ext. 3-6981 for
further information. Pay and job classification are based on experience.
