DNS Entry Problem

Description:
I live off campus and I have the dial up modem from UNI. After it dials and acts like it is ok, I try to get on the internet (Netscape or Internet Explorer) and it says that the DNS entry cannot be found. I can't go to anything. I was wondering if you had any suggestions.

RESPONSE:
Your dialup adaptor needs to have DNS disabled. Right click on Network Neighborhood (Win 9x) or My Network Places (Win ME) and select PROPERTIES. Single click to select your TCP/IP Dial Up Adaptor. Click the PROPERTIES button and check "Disable DNS".
