Setting Up Mail List For Your Classes (Class Lists)

You may or may not be aware that MAILSERV-based mailing lists are available for the classes you teach. These mailing lists allow you, your students, and interested outsiders to communicate with each other outside the classroom via e-mail messages. In addition, a roster of your class will be e-mailed to you as an added benefit. The information contained in the roster may/should be suitable for importing into a spreadsheet or other electronic gradebook.

To request a list, please provide me with the department, course, and section numbers for the class(es) desired. Section numbers are necessary even for single-section classes because they are not always numbered "01". Also, please do this via e-mail rather than telephone to avoid potential errors in the translation. Finally, if you have multiple e-mail accounts, please submit your request from the one that you will be using for list participation and management during the semester.
