Step by Step Email Migration Instructions


If you want to configure your departmental email account click here.

For personal accounts:

1. Setup your new Email password

• Login to MyUNIverse and click on the Set my new CatID password now link in the MyEmail channel.
• For information on changing your CatID password go to the UNI password page

2. Desktop client changes (Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.)

• Faculty/Staff go to client setup instructions. & nbsp;  When finished, return for Step 3.
• Students have no required client changes.

3. Folder Transfer to Collab (10:15 a.m. April 4 - due to performance problems this tool has been abandoned)

• The folder conversion tool continued to be problematic and we discontinued use of that tool. Individual arrangements will need to be made, please contact the ITS Computer Consulting Center (ITTC 36, 273-5555 or Click HERE to arrange via email). Include your contact information (no long distance telephone numbers please).

• For an explanation of server side email folders and information about the Folder Transfer Tool go to the eMail Conversion page.   

4. Log into Collab email

Either
• log into Collab email through your desktop email client
Or
• Go to UNI email on the web to navigate to one of the new web based email clients.

If you want to use the WebAccess client, you must be using one of these browsers:
• Internet Explorer 6 (Windows 2000 or XP)
• Mozilla 1.7.3 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)
• Firefox 1.0 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)

If you do not have access to one of these browsers, you will need to use the WebMail client, which will work with older browsers.

 

If you need additional assistance please contact the Computer Consulting Center (CCC) at (319) 273-5555. The CCC is located in Room 36 ITTC Building (East Gym). Consultants are available to provide hands-on assistance daily Monday through Friday. Click for Hours
