Managing Mail Folders

You can create folders in which to store your incoming messages, as many as you need, and organize them into hierarchies by creating subfolders within other folders. For example, you can put messages that you need to reply to today in one folder, messages from your boss in another folder, and messages about a particular client in a third folder. You can move messages between folders, as necessary, at any time, and you can easily rename and delete folders.

One way to create folders with Collab Mail is to use one of the web based email clients. You can also create folders using desktop e-mail clients such as Eudora, Mozilla, Thunderbird, or Outlook. These local e-mail clients may also let you create folders on your computer to organize downloaded messages.

Be aware that email folders stored on the server can put you over your storage quota and can make it very difficult to recover from that. It will also require the use of the File Transfer tool before you can access previously created folders in your new Collab account. You should carefully consider using local storage for archival purposes and messages that do not need to be continuously available on demand. For instructions on how to move folders from the server to local storage, see the links at  Moving Folders.

Navigate to either the Web Access client or Web Mail client from UNI email on the web.
If you want to use the WebAccess client, you must be using one of these browsers:

• Internet Explorer 6 (Windows 2000 or XP)
• Mozilla 1.7.3 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)
• Firefox 1.0 or later (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)

If you do not have access to one of these browsers, you will need to use the WebMail client, which will work with older browsers.
