What is my CatID?

Your CatID is the combination of your username and passphrase used for systems authenticated through the Central Authentication System. The CatID logo is your clue to use this username/passphrase combination to log in. Click here for more information. CatID Logo

What is my username?

Your username is the unique 3-8 character account name that identifies you as a member of the UNI community. For students, your username is the portion before the @ sign in your UNI email address. See CatID for more information.

Students have one opportunity to change the system-generated username you were assigned. If you haven't done so already, you may select a different username.

What is my CatID passphrase?

If you are accessing email or MyUNIverse as a new user, your initial passphrase is in one of two formats.  Try either of these formats:

1) the format mmdd$nnnnnn (mm is the first 2 letters of your birth month, dd is the 2 digit number of your birth day, and nnnnnn is your 6 digits university ID#, example: ja01$123456)

or (if your ID# is in either of these ranges 496919-500000 or 672887-700000 try this format)

2) the format panthersxxxmmmdd  (xxx is the last three (3) digits of your University ID#,  mmm is the first three letters of your birth month, and dd is the 2 digit number of your birth day).  example: panthers456nov23 (all lower case)

Before accessing eLearning (WebCT) for the first time, you must have established your CatID passphrase as described above.

How do I change my CatID passphrase?

Go to the change passphrase utility (Note: the login screen will appear) and enter your login and current passphrase. Select a new passphrase and enter it again to verify that you have typed it correctly. Your new passphrase must be at least 15 characters long and the passphrase is case sensitive, so you may enter any combination of lowercase and uppercase letters. I've forgotten my passphrase. Now what do I do?

If you can't remember your CatID passphrase, you will need to contact the Computer Consulting Center to request your passphrase be reset.

Staff in the CCC will request information from you to confirm your identity. Your passphrase will be reset and you will be required to change your passphrase the first time you log in.
