ITS Spotlight

In the Spotlight

ITS hosted an ITS Spotlight on Wednesday, November 28th. The event featured the Accordent Capture System, UNI Alert Emergency Notification System, and the Voting and Surveys web tool. Faculty, staff, and students were all welcome to attend.

Featured Topics:

Accordent Capture System

The Accordent Capture System captures live audio and video, automatically syncing that with any PowerPoints or other presentation tools used by the speaker. It’s as easy as clicking “start” and “stop.” Viewers can watch the live presentation on the Web or connect to it at a later time. This is a great tool for faculty wanting to capture lectures, professionals capturing workshop or training segments for instruction purposes, or for capturing student or a variety of other presentations to then be made available via the Web.

UNI Alert

UNI Alert System
UNI is working to enhance emergency notification for faculty, staff and students. As part of this project we are working to deploy an emergency text and voice message notification system. This system (along with other emergency notification systems) will only be used to inform our campus community of a broad-based imminent threat on campus.

Voting & Surveys

ITS provides a free voting and survey service to the University community. Surveys run through MyUNIverse and appear in the announcements section during the polling period. A variety of question types can be incorporated, including single or multiple responses, rating scales, and free text answers. This is the method used for NISG elections and various other ballots and surveys across campus.
