Server Virtualization

ITS is now offering a range of "virtual" servers to Colleges, Divisions, and Departments that do not want the overhead of maintaining servers on the campus network.   In the right setting "virtual" servers can save: ; acquistion costs; power consumption; computer room space; staff time; and cooling.  This is a technology that has rapidly transformed   higher education and information technology as a whole.

Not every server application is a good candidate for virtualization, so please work with ITS Network Services staff to determine if your needs can be met with a "virtual server."
