MAILSERV List Owner Commands

1. Add subscribers to it
• Send a mail message to mailserv@uni.edu where the body contains a message with lines similar to:


SUB MYLIST user@host.domain
SUB MYLIST anotheruser@host.domain
END
 

• The address *must* contain an @ or MAILSERV will think you are trying to subscribe yourself.
• For UNI faculty/staff addresses, it should be their e-mail alias, i.e., First.Last@uni.edu
• For UNI student addresses, it should be their userid, e.g., jonesa12@uni.edu
2. Remove subscribers from it
• Send a mail message to mailserv@uni.edu where the body contains a message with lines similar to:


UNSUB MYLIST user@host.domain
UNSUB MYLIST anotheruser@host.domain
END
 

• The address must contain an @ or MAILSERV will unsubscribe you from your list.
3. See who is currently on it
• Send a mail message to mailserv@uni.edu where the body contains a message similar to:


SEND/LIST MYLIST
END
 

4. See the names of the lists that you own
• Send a mail message to mailserv@uni.edu where the body contains these two lines:


DIRECTORY/LIST
END
