UNI eLearning - Setting Up Your Course

DESCRIPTION: Learn how to develop your online course in UNI eLearning. IT will cover skills such as adding pages, customizing a page, adding UNI eLearning tools, using Designer Map, adding links to the navigation bar, adding a syllabus, organizing icons, uploading content using Manage Files, and adding content modules.

DESCRIPTION: Learn how to use the communication tools provided within UNI eLearning. You'll get hands-on practice with the discussions area, UNI eLearning mail, chat, and the calendar tool. In addition, you'll learn about UNI eLearning's My Courses portal, using bread crumbs, and how to make course backups.

DESCRIPTION: Learn how to use UNI eLearning's features designed specifically for supporting group work, including sign-up sheets and group activities. Create both individual and group assignments and learn how both instructors and students work within the assignments tool.
UNI eLearning IV - Gradebook and Assessments

PREREQUISITE: UNI eLearning I
DESCRIPTION: This workshop will address UNI eLearning's Gradebook and Assessment tools. Assessment types include quizzes/tests, surveys and self-tests. You will get hands-on experience in actually creating each question type in a quiz.

DESCRIPTION: The World Wide Web places unique requirements on the formatting of files. Some file formats work better than others, some don't work at all; some are simple to create, others are more difficult; some can be downloaded and used or modified by anyone, others cannot. This workshop will describe many of the various methods available with an emphasis on converting to Adobe Acrobat PDF files.

DESCRIPTION: This hands-on workshop builds on the two prerequisites, demonstrating how to use Dreamweaver and Fireworks together when creating web pages. Fireworks allow you to create, edit and optimize images for the web.
Creating & Editing Digital Images for the Web

DESCRIPTION: We'll use digital cameras to take pictures and then edit those images, using Irfanview, for use on the web or to attach to an email. Resources for becoming a smart consumer when shopping for a digital camera will also be shared.
