The purpose of the Instructional Design & Development Support service is to provide faculty with assistance on how and when technology would be an appropriate choice to help achieve learning outcomes. Technology is tool that should be considered when planning instruction. However, not all technology is appropriate in all instructional situations. Sometimes old-fashioned technology such as paper and pencil still work best!
We can assist you by:
| helping you choose instructional technology to fit your course objectives and student needs. | |
| suggesting ways to integrate instructional technology into your teaching. | |
| recommending ways to use instructional technology to promote active learning, critical thinking, and collaborative work. | |
| showing you how to collect assessment data using technology tools. | |
| advising on how instructional technology can be used to support good practice in undergraduate education. |
For information on what instructional technologies are available on campus and assistance in implementing them in your courses contact us at idds@uni.edu or (273-5854).
The following is a partial list of instructional technologies with which we can assist. Please note that ITS-Educational Technology can assist you in the discovery and learning of instructional technologies at no charge. If you wish us to create materials there is a fee (see the Production House or Digital Design Services.
