Committees

The desktop managers group is a cross-divisional committee that meets once a month to discuss desktop management issues across the University. Membership is limited to those who directly manage a number of desktops across their college, department, or division. Meetings typically last an hour and a half where issues and topics are discussed from best practice on print management and group policy to deploying operating system images and scripting. This group reports back on its activities to the larger IT Forum group on a regular basis.

The Advisory Council provides the Director of Educational Technology with communications from faculty, staff, and students that serve as a guiding force and source of feedback.  The communications and feedback are key to maintaining a focus on key issues, setting a path that aligns with needs, and ensuring the allocation of proper resources.

This committee considers policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of the Document Imaging Services and Support. This committee advises the Director of Information Systems.

The Technology Council makes it possible for UNI to retain its hybrid model of central IT services providing basic services and distributed IT units focusing on unit-specific needs, while providing the mechanism needed to improve communications, collaboration, and unity across the institution.

IT Forum is a group open to all UNI employees or affiliates who have IT responsibilities or integration with UNI IT systems. The focus of this group is to foster communication between all IT organization, both centralized and decentralized. ITS hosts a monthly IT Forum meeting and manages an e-mail group and Wiki.

This committee considers policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS). This committee advises the Director of Educational Technology. The members share information regarding issues and problems along with solutions in the use of the LMS.

There are variouis working groups utilized by ITS Information Systems area to discuss and recommend policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of various special interest areas. These committees advise various team leaders in ITS Information Systems.

This committee considers policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of the Student Affairs Division. This committee advises the Director of Information Systems.

This committee considers policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of the student computing and the Student Computer Centers located throughout the campus. This committee advises the Chief Information Officer on the allocation of the computer fee.

This committee considers policies, priorities, and strategic plans for the establishment, equipping, operation, and maintenance of the Student Information System. This committee advises the Director of Information Systems.
