Dr. Mike Jorgensen
Superintendent of Schools for Southeast Webster-Grand. This is his ninth year with this district. Southeast Webster-Grand reorganized as of July 1, 2005. Southeast Webster High School was the first High Schools That Work site in the state of Iowa in 1999. They received the United States Department of Education Comprehensive School Reform Promising Site award in 2001, the only school district in Iowa to receive this award. Southeast Webster also received the IASB T.E. Davidson Award of Excellence as the School District of the year in 2002. Southeast Webster also host the first Charter High School in the state of Iowa, Iowa Central Charter High School. The district also was selected as one of the 10 pilot schools for Iowa JAG (Jobs for America¹s Graduates). Dr. Jorgensen is a graduate of Drake University in Business Education and Human Resource Management. He also completed his graduate work at Drake as well. He was a Business Education Teacher for the Marshalltown Community School District from 1982-1985. He was the Multi-Occupational Coordinator for Perry Community School District from 1985-1994. He was the Tech Prep/School to Work Coordinator for AEA 5 from 1994-1997 before coming to Southeast Webster as High School Principal. He is currently in his 8th year as Superintendent. He was selected as the District 5 Superintendent of the Year in 2003-2004. He was successfully written over $2 million in grants for the district the last 8 years.
