Dave has been Superintendent of Schools at Waukee since 2004. Prior to that he served as Associate Superintendent at Waukee from 1994-2004. During Dave’s time at Waukee the district has grown from a student enrollment of 1,100 students to nearly 6,000. He has been involved in 16 separate construction projects ranging from new buildings to remodels. Waukee has either opened a new building or additions to current facilities in 12 of his 15 years with the district. The district has passed seven referendums over that time period, the local option sales tax for Dallas County, and the $1.34 PPEL Levy in order to finance projects. In March a $70 million bond referendum (second largest ever in Iowa) for five more projects in order to meet the facility demands of growth was approved with an 89% yes vote. Dave received his BA from the University of Northern Iowa and his MA and PhD from Iowa State University.
