Bob Longmuir
Bob served as Superintendent of Schools for the New Hampton Community School District for 17 years (1987-2004). Since taking early retirement in 2004 from New Hampton, Bob has served as a half-time superintendent at Tripoli and most recently at Clarksville. He has proven fiscal management skills by maintaining the New Hampton school district in a sound financial condition and an excellent financial solvency ratio during several years of zero allowable growth and several years of the state minimum allowable growth. On September 8, 1998, the district passed a $5.1 million bond issue for two additions and major renovation to the existing elementary/middle school. The school district sought and received a very favorable A3 Moody's investment rating, and received an extremely low bid quote of 3.87% for the sale of the bonds. The elementary school received the State of Iowa FINE Award during the many years of minimal allowable growth. He has been a three-year presenter at the IASB Annual Convention on the Basics of Iowa School Finance; a member of the Department of Education School Finance Roundtable; and a past president of the Iowa Associate of School Business Officials. His BA, MA, and Superintendent's Endorsement were all received from the University of Northern Iowa.
