National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals. There will be numerous events going on during this week.

2014 National Volunteer Week Events:
Tuesday, April 8

  • Volunteer Tuesdays will be making "Begindergarten" bags for local schools. Volunteer from 3:30-5:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm.
  • Write cards to veterans in partnership with Fraternity & Sorority Life
  • 10am-5pm in Maucker Union Ballroom Lobby

Thursday, April 10

  • Stop & Serve and Volunteer Appreciation Day - stop by to work on a service project and receive a free cupcake!
  • 2pm-4pm next to Chat's in Maucker Union

Saturday, April 12

  • SLC is partnering with UNI Hardwoods to plant 4000 hardwood seedlings in Cedar Falls to help areas damaged by flooding in 2008.
  • 8am-1pm - Meet at 1824 Lincoln St. in Cedar Falls
