What is the one thing you would tell a new or prospective international student about attending a college in the United States?
The experience at first may seem very challenging and overwhelming, but don’t be afraid to ask for help; everyone around you is here to help you and make your experience the best one possible.
How has your academic experience been?
Having the opportunity to meet my professors in a personal level, both as an undergraduate and graduate student has made my academic experience much better because I feel more responsible for my own learning, rather than just being at a lecture hall.
How did you determine your major… i.e. did you take a class, consult with UNI programs, inspired by someone or something?
As an undergraduate student, I have changed my major 3 times until I decided to meet with an academic advisor at UNI, who helped me decide which major I would enjoy more. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have talked a lot with Kristi and saw how much she enjoys her job, so she pointed out the Student Affairs program, which is focused on preparing someone to work in a university and help students in several ways.
