Geography
Students
may choose to undertake either a thesis or non-thesis track.
Generally, the equivalent of two years of full-time study is
required to complete the program. A student may concentrate
his or her studies in human geography (urban, transportation,
planning, economic, political, cultural), physical/environmental
geography (geomorphology, climatology, soils), geographic information
technology (GIS, cartography, remote sensing), or geographic
education. The Department has extensive laboratory facilities
and field equipment for physical geography including soils/sediment
analysis capabilities, and extensive global positioning systems
(GPS) equipment. Computer facilities include state-of-the-art
teaching and research laboratories operating ArcView, ArcInfo,
ERDAS Imagine, S-Plus and other software packages. click
