Master of Arts

A Master's in Mathematics is available with emphases on Mathematics and Secondary Teaching. The Mathematics emphases are available on the thesis and non-thesis options. A minimum of 36 semester hours, including 6 hours of MATH 6299, is required for the thesis option; a minimum of 32 semester hours, including 2 hours of MATH 6299, is required for the non-thesis option. Successful completion of a research paper and a set of comprehensive examinations is required for the non-thesis option. The Secondary Teaching emphasis is offered on a non-thesis option only and requires a minimum of 32 semester hours. Coursework for the Secondary Teaching emphasis program are completed online during the academic year. This program does not lead to a secondary mathematics endorsement.
