There are three components to the program: 15 semester hours in a Professional Common Core of work in educational foundations, fundamentals, and research; 38 semester hours of Advanced Professional Study in one of six areas of intensive study and related areas; and a Dissertation of 7 semester hours. It is necessary to have a close contact with the respective departments as different programs are offered by different departments.

• Hold a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience appropriate to the applicant's doctoral program and research goals.
• Transcripts of all previous academic work. A minimum GPA of 3.50 or higher for all prior graduate work.
• Submit GRE scores (+ Analytical Writing section) only for Ed. Leadership
• TOEFL score (560/83) or IELTS (6.5) (TOEFL of 600/100 or IELTS 7.0 for Ed. Leadership)
• Statement of Intent
• Resume (Allied Health, Recreation and community services)
• 3 References from educators / professionals who are acquainted with your academic ability.
