The 340-hectare
campus features
more than 40
major buildings within a 10-minute walking distance of each other.
Between buildings, our beautiful park-like
campus allows plenty of space to relax between classes. Modern,
comprehensive facilities give students knowledge of and experience
with the latest technology and equipment. Some of these buildings
include:
- The Rod
Library with more than 970,00 books and bound periodical volumes and a computerized catalog search system.
- The Curris
Business Building, which opened in 1990, houses the College
of Administration.
- A $19
million state-of-the-art Wellness/Recreation
Center with exercise equipment, recreational courts, a waterslide
and the tallest rock climbing wall in the Midwest.
- The $23
million Gallagher-Bluedorn
Performing Arts Center showcasing UNI School of Music students
and world-renowned performers.
- A $16.9
million addition to McCollum Science Hall includes research
facilities, laboratories and classrooms.
- Maucker
University Union, a recently expanded facility that is the principal
campus meeting place for students, faculty, staff and alumni.
- Price
Laboratory School,
a nationally-recognized kindergarten through high school teacher
training facility.
- On-campus
housing for single and married students.
- Computers
are everywhere at UNI. Throughout the campus there are large, well-equipped
computer labs in classroom buildings, residence halls and in the
library. Networked Internet access is also available for free in
residence hall rooms for each student who brings a computer.
- The UNI-Dome,
a multi-purpose sports center that seats 16,000 people
for sporting events, concerts and exhibitions.
- The newly-opened
McCleod Center is a performance venue for men's and women's basketball,
volleyball, and wrestling; seating around 6000 spectators.
- The Campanile,
the central point of UNI's skyline, has a 47-bell carillon
that rings out across campus.When you hear those bells, you’ll
know you’ve arrived!!
- Built in 1903, but rennovated in 2006, the East Gymnasium was renamed
the Innovative Teaching and Technology Center (ITTC).
