Dr. Nadia Korobova Awarded Fulbright Grant

Dr. Nadia Korobova, Associate Director for International Students and Scholars, has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright grant to participate in U.S.-Germany International Education Administrators Seminar to be held in Germany and France in October of this year.  The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsors the Fulbright Program from an annual appropriation from the U.S. Congress.  As a Fulbright grantee, Dr. Korobova will join the ranks of distinguished participants in the Program.

UNI Diplomat Series: Roberto Matus

In continuation of Office of International Programs' Diplomat Series, UNI will welcome Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Chile Minister Counselor Roberto Matus in April.  Mr. Matus will give a lecture entitled "Chile: a Road to Development" on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6 pm to 7 pm at Curris Business Building Room 109 (John Deere Auditorium). Staff Changes

I am pleased to report that, effective November 12, 2012, there will be some changes made in the recently renamed International Students and Scholars Office. These changes are being made to improve the services that the University provides to international students and scholars. Dr. Nadia Korobova is being promoted to the position of Associate Director for International Students and Scholars, and head ISSO. Dr. Korobova holds BA from Simferopol State University (Ukraine), MA from University of Northern Iowa, and PhD from Iowa State University.

International Students and Scholars Office Name Change

The International Services Office name has been changed to the International Students and Scholars Office (“ISSO”) to reflect a broader range of constituents it will be serving and to bring the name of the office into line with the name used by like offices at most other universities in the United States.  In addition to serving international students, ISSO will be serving visiting scholars and professors and UNI faculty, staff, and students in need of visas for foreign travel on University business or through a University program.  ISSO will also advise UNI faculty, staff, and students abo
