Process for Formally Inviting International Visitors
If you are interested in bringing an international visitor to the UNI campus please contact the Office of International Programs (OIP) secretary, Beccy Johnson, at email@example.com or 319-273-6807.
Once OIP receives notification from an academic department that they are interested in hosting an international visitor, specific information is required to begin the process of bringing the visitor to the UNI campus. An online Visitor Registry has been established to streamlined the process of inviting international visitors to campus. All mandatory forms can now be completed online. To complete the application to invite an international visitor please follow the visitor registry link. Click on the "Apply Now" button to the right of "Host an International Visitor" box and follow the prompts. You will need your UNI user name and pass-phrase to continue. The University of Northern Iowa encourages colleges, departments and faculty members to invite foreign scholars to campus to engage in academic and research collaborations and to teach. Such visits provide the UNI community with a diversity of perspectives, which facilitate the generation of knowledge.
Information for Prospective International Visitors Looking for an Appropriate Academic Match

Housing for International Visitors: The Office of International Programs has apartments available for international visiting scholars/professors to rent during their time at UNI. Below is an example of what is available.
318 G Street - This is a standard two-bedroom apartment. The rent includes all utilities (heat, air conditioning, electric, water, cable TV, internet connectivity and telephone, excluding long distance). The apartment is fully furnished, including bedding, towels, pans, dishes, etc. It is located on the south side of campus, see the attached campus map. 10 Hagemann Hall - This is a standard one-bedroom apartment. The rent includes all utilities (heat, air conditioning, electric, water, cable TV, internet connectivity and telephone, excluding long distance). The apartment is fully furnished, including bedding, towels, pans, dishes, etc. It is located on the basement level of a residence hall on campus, see the attached campus map. Since this is a residence hall adults only are a better fit for this apartment. There are two beds and two closets, so sharing of this apartment with another international visitor is an option. 10 Hagemann on Campus Map
