Marybeth C. Stalp is Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology at the University of Northern Iowa. She has authored 14 peer reviewed journal articles, as well as the book Quilting: The Fabric of Everyday Life (Berg Press, 2007). Stalp’s research interests center on the intersection between gender, culture, leisure and qualitative methods. She has studied midlife leisure quilters, the Red Hat Society, and artists. Stalp is also the co-editor of the Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, currently housed at the University of Northern Iowa.
