Martha J. Reineke is Professor of Religion in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Northern Iowa. She is the author of /Sacrificed Lives: Kristeva on Women and Violence /(Indiana University Press, 1997). Other publications include “Our Vital Necessity: Kristeva’s Theory of Sacrifice” in /Religion in French Feminist Thought/, edited by Morny Joy, Kathleen O’Grady, and Judith Poxon (Routledge, 2003). She is in the process of completing a book manuscript, /Intimate Domain: Sexual Difference and/ /Mimetic Theory/, which is about the work of René Girard.
