University of Northern Iowa

5th Annual Conference of Stony Brook University and Florence University of the Arts (Center for Contemporary Italian Studies CCIS)

The conference is entitled  “Florence: A City of Many Appetites” and will take place on November 8th and 9th, 2013.
The conference’s goal is to examine the concept of ‘appetite’ in the shaping of Florentine history and culture. ‘Appetite’ will be considered both metaphorically and materially, so as to include not just the intellectual, social, economic aspirations, needs and desires that have stimulated Florence’s history but on a more material plane to incorporate Florence's contribution to our appreciation and understanding of the arts.

In the file you will find the Conference Call for Papers. It provides information regarding abstract submission and the publication of conference proceedings. We hope you will find the conference topic interesting and look forward to hearing from you.
