UNI Partners with Kyungpook National University in Korea to Internationalize STEM Education

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) USA and Kyungpook National University (KNU) Korea are pleased to announce an innovative double-degree program for students training to be teachers of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and physical education supported by a $3 million grant from the National Research Foundation of Korea.

United States-Japan Foundation Grant Programs

Deadline:  July 15, 2013

Supports cooperation between the U.S. and Japan through three programs: Communication/Public Opinion funds projects that raise awareness and address issues that affect bilateral relations and stimulate quality media coverage of relevant issues; Pre-college Education supports improved instruction about Japan in U.S. schools and the U.S. in Japanese schools through creative curriculum development and teacher training; and U.S.

East European Studies (EES) Scholarships and Grants

Deadline:  September 01, 2013

Supports scholarships for Ph.D. and post-doctoral research in the fields of social sciences and humanities with a regional focus on Central and Eastern Europe, including the Baltic states. Research Grants provide support for new researchers or for scholars whose careers have been interrupted or delayed (12/1). Summer Research Scholarships (3/1) and Short-term Research Scholarship (3/1; 6/1; 9/1; 12/1) also available.

Travel Awards for International Collaborative Research

Deadline:  August 27, 2013 (Tentative)

Enables distinguished researchers to travel to the University of Queensland for collaborative projects. Assistance is available to scholars actively engaged in research that will contribute substantially to research activities in the nominated department. Grantees should spend at least four weeks during an academic semester at Queensland. Prospective applicants should write to the director of the appropriate School/Centre/ Institute to obtain specific program details.
