Seerley Hall houses the Office of the President, the Provost’s Office and Internal Auditing. It also contains classrooms and the Great Reading Room. Previously a lecture hall, the Great Reading Room was renovated in 1993 and now contains period furniture and two large beautifully restored allegoric murals. One mural portrays the value of the Teachers College mission, while the other appealed to the very fresh memories of World War I, in which many Teachers College faculty, students, and alumni had served when the murals were originally installed in 1920.
