High School Students:
Students who wish to major in Electrical Engineering Technology need a good background in mathematics and sciences as well as a desire to continually learn, communicate and work with other individuals. High school students with a good electrical/electronics and mechanical aptitude and a desire to work hands-on projects, use equipment and obtain leadership positions in business and industry, should consider the EET major.
Community College Transfer:
Many community college technical credits can reduce the graduation requirement of the EET major. Articulation programs with all the two year institutions exist. We strongly encourage transferring students to contact the EET Coordinator for more information about coming to the University of Northern Iowa early in their planning. Almost all of our transfer students from Community Colleges find jobs in industries located in Cedar Falls/Waterloo area during their education at UNI.
