CAREERS & AGING . . . . . . . . . .

Dynamic. Growing. Exciting. These words all describe the present and future career opportunities of working with and for the senior population.

These career opportunities are the result of the increase in the Baby Boom generation. By 2030, there will be about 70 million older persons (20% of the population), more than twice their number in 2000 (12.4% of the population).

There will be an ongoing demand for individuals in a variety of fields to provide services and resources to this population. Career fields and job titles will evolve to address the demands for service for this population, including both specialists and generalists.
