Exercise Science Graduate Program
Master of Arts Degree in Physical Education
Emphasis Area: Scientific Bases of Physical Education
Two emphasis areas are offered for the M.A. degree in Physical Education; Scientific Bases of Physical Education and Teaching/Coaching. Students enrolled in the Scientific Bases emphasis area have the choice of two tracts of study which include Exercise Science and Psychomotor Behavior. The Exercise Science tract is a program requiring a minimum of 30 semester hours which includes a 6-hour thesis.

420:260 Laboratory Instrumentation and Test Interpretation (2 hr) (offered fall semester only)
420:271 Cardiovascular Physiology (3 hr) (offered fall semester only)
420:285 Readings in Physical Education (3 hr)
420:289 Physical Education Seminar: Graduate Colloquium (1 hr) (offered spring semester only)
420:289 Physical Education Seminar: Muscle Physiology (2 hr) (offered spring semester only)
420:289 Physical Education Seminar: Sport Nutrition (2 hr) (offered spring semester only)
420:290 Research Methods for Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services (3 hr)
420:299 Research (6 hr) (thesis required)
