Why did you choose UNI?
I chose UNI for its commitment to student learning and well being.
What's the best thing about attending UNI?
The people I've met and the relationships I've formed with them during my time here are the best thing about attending UNI. Students, faculty and staff are genuinely friendly and they share a strong sense of Panther pride.
How has the Honors Program at UNI helped you? What do you like best about the program?
The Honors Program continues to stoke my curiosity by offering a wide variety of Liberal Arts Core courses and fascinating seminars on a range of topics. My favorite thing about the program is how much it has challenged me to grow and develop as a student and as a person. The program provides intellectual, personal and interpersonal skill-building opportunities in a unique and supportive environment.
What kind of on-campus organizations/activities are you involved in? How does that involvement enrich your overall college experience?
I especially enjoy meeting weekly with my conversation partner, who is from Taiwan. We practice her conversational English and attend on and off-campus events together. Seeing the campus, community, and country through her eyes has been one of my most enriching collegiate experiences. I have learned as much from her as she has from me.
Share a memorable experience of UNI—whether it's the funniest, most embarrassing, profound, etc.
Climbing the endless spiral staircase to the top of the Campanile and watching the carillon being played, with the enormous bells pealing right above my head and yellowed sheet music scattered around my trembling feet, is a cherished UNI experience.
