Ropes Retreat

The New Student Ropes Retreat is and opportunity for first year students to meet their honors peers, develop friendships, and strengthen their leadership skills in a fun and challenging environment!

The Ropes Retreat is held at Camp Ingawanis near Waverly, Iowa on a Saturday within the first six weeks of the semester and students participate in the low C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) Course. The experience is a "challenge by choice" course meaning participants select activities in which they wish to participate. Some activies are individualized while others are team based, but all are worth the trip! For more information, visit the C.O.P.E. website.

Students can attend the retreat for $5 which includes their lunch and all program fees.

"The time flew by and I liked how we were challenged both mentally and phsyically; that's not something that happens very often!"

"It was the best $5 I have spent so far in college!"

"It should be stressed that this is NOT scary because at first I thought they would have me ziplining and doing things of extreme heights."
