There are currently 485 students enrolled in the Honors Program, working towards a variety of majors across all of the colleges at UNI. Honors students are involved in a wide spectrum of activities including music ensembles, student government, athletics, academic societies, and faith-based groups. Many honors students serve the university through Resident Assistant positions or participation in service organizations like SAA and CATS.
UNI's honors students have a passion for learning. In 2009, 50% of all honors students took 16 or more credit hours each semester, while 54% maintained a GPA of 3.75 or higher!
From specialized sections of honors courses to individualized opportunities to earn credit through contracting, independent study, and study abroad, students are encouraged to take advantage of the many in and out of class learning opportunities provided by the Honors Program.
