Homecoming Royalty is a University of Northern Iowa tradition that was revived in 2012. The Royalty application and selection process is a great opportunity to showcase a few of the many outstanding students at UNI. The Homecoming Royalty Court is comprised of five Queen Candidates and five King Candidates. Throughout the week the candidates will participate in various Homecoming events. The candidates will be chosen through an application and selection process and will be announced Monday evening at the Kickoff. The King and Queen will be announced at the Pep Rally on Friday night of Homecoming Week.
Please note that the Homecoming Royalty selection process is not a beauty pageant or a popularity contest. Applicants are not advantaged or disadvantaged by applying or being nominated. Royalty will be screened and ultimately selected based on the applicants’ ability to articulate and demonstrate academic performance, curricular and co-curricular involvement, contributions to the University community and school spirit.
