Internships
Based upon your interest and experience you can gain "real" experience through internships. We have placed students throughout the Cedar Valley, the State and the Nation.
Stephanie interned at the Grout Museum. She researched material for an exhibit, "The Day the Music Died: Life in the 1950's."
Dawn interned at the Cedar Falls Historical Society. She worked with collections, accessioning artifacts, and updated docent materials from the Victorian Home.
Melanie interned at the State Historical Society of Iowa. She worked in collections, organizing and cataloguing the Marjorie Lynn Collection that included artifacts depicting different facets of life 1875-1925 (i.e. barber shop, blacksmith's shop, 1925 room).
Angela worked at the University of Northern Iowa University Archives. There she developed finding aids for the Northern Iowa Board of Control of Student Publications, chronologically organized a stack of photos of UNI drama productions, and topically organized a collection of speeches by Senator Grassley.
Julie worked at the Cedar Falls Historical Society. She organized the photograph collection of the Cedar Falls Historical Society.
