Sexual Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing

Sexually active men and women may be at risk for sexually transmitted diseases (STD). The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that approximately 19 million new STD infections occur each year in the United States - almost half of them among young people 15 - 24 years of age. The consistent and correct use of the male latex condom reduces the risk of STD infection. Free condoms are available at the Student Health Clinic.

The Student Health Clinic offers a variety of confidential sexually-transmitted disease testing. We are currently offering free gonorrhea & chlamydia testing. Please contact us to make an appointment (319)-273-2009 or call the resource nurse (319)-273-5161 if you have specific questions. There will be a charge for the test, unless indicated free. These charges can be sent to your health insurance company or a bill will be sent to the student form Quest Diagnostic Labs.

We offer the following STD testing options:

Syphilis
Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) or genital warts
Gonorrhea (free)
Chlamydia (free)
Genital Herpes
HIV
