Symptoms:
- Skin manifestations vary widely
- Itching
- Irritation
Home Care/Self Treatment:
- Over-the-counter antihistamine
- Avoid scratching
- Cool bath with additive (baking soda, Aveeno, oatmeal) several times a day
- Over-the-counter topical ointments may be helpful
Seek Medical Attention if:
- If you recently started a new medication
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Swelling of mouth, tongue or throat, or eyes
- No improvement in 48 hours after home care measures
- Fever, sore throat or joint pain
- Signs of infection – increased redness, swelling, warmth, drainage or fever
- If rash with purple spots and having headache, stiff neck or fever
