The Mandatory Health Fee is billed with tuition if you are taking 5 or more credit hours during the academic year or 3 or more credit hours during the summer. That fee is $79 per semester for the fall and spring semester and $59.25 for the summer. In 2004 a 20 year revenue bond issue was sold to remodel and add on to the Student Health Clinic. The repayment of those bonds was funded by a Health Facility Fee of $16.50 per semester for 5 or more credit hours and $8.25 per semester for fewer than 5 credit hours. The summer Health Facility Fee is $12.50 and $6.25 respectively.

 

This money is a support fee not a user fee. It supports the public health activities that keep the campus a safe and healthy place to live and attend classes. It also supports the health promotion activities that are so important at this time of your life.

 

Payment of the fee allows you to visit with any one of our medical providers without being charged for an office visit. The fee also subsidizes the costs associated with all of the other services for which an additional fee is charged.

 

The health fee is NOT an insurance policy. It is intended to complement a student’s individual insurance coverage. All students should carry their health insurance cards.
