Workshop and Show, Sunday, April 19, 2009*

In this workshop, Shiara will teach "Shiara Style Dance Combinations.”

What exactly is Shiara Style?" Well . . . One dancer describes it as, “Dramatic. Precise. Punctuated with playfulness and intensity.”

We'll use different music selections from a single compilation CD and create fabulously fun dance combinations for you to use in your own performances.

Come for the combos and stay for the fun!

Shiara is an award-winning performer, and a knowledgeable, experienced and passionate instructor from Ames, Iowa. She discovered this beautiful art form in 1993, and has been studying, performing and perfecting her unique dance style ever since. In 1998 Shiara was asked to share her passion for Middle Eastern music and dance in the classroom as both an instructor and guest lecturer. She currently offers classes in both Ames and West Des Moines, in addition to traveling to teach dance workshops and private lessons. She also performs throughout the Central U.S. at dance seminars, cultural celebrations and community festivals. As a compliment to her Middle Eastern Dance training, Shiara has experience in both Ballroom and Latin Dance as well as a strong background in the theatre arts. She is known for her playful personality on stage, and nothing brings Shiara more joy than sharing her love of this dance with others!

*Workshop will be held 1-4:15pm. Show begins at 6:30pm. Workshop is $40 if received by April 6 and includes a free show ticket! Workshop is $45 (plus $5 if you want to attend the show) after that date.
