Summer Research Program in Psychology

At University of Northern Iowa

 

4 week June program includes travel, housing, food, and research expenses, plus a $2000 stipend!

 

 

Students will work with a faculty member on a research project as well as learn about advanced methods, statistics, and graduate school topics during weekly seminars.

 

Requirements:

·        US citizen or permanent resident

·        Psychology major

·        Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing

·        Interested in attending graduate school

·        Member of one of the following groups: African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander

Adam Butler

Work-life balance; collegiate employment and alcohol use; occupational health and wellness

Helen Harton

Social influence, prejudice, intimate relationships, attitude change

Robert Hitlan

Workplace stress, antecedents and consequences of, social and workplace exclusion, language-based ostracism, interpersonal and intergroup relations including prejudice and discrimination

Nicholas Schwab

Social influence and health; SES and health; cooperation

John Somervill

Attitudes toward animal abuse and relation to psychopathology; pet therapy
