The "Nutcracker's" Local Cast with the Minnesota BalletOn September 22, 89 local students auditioned and were cast for the Minnesota Ballet’s “Nutcracker,” presented by the Gallagher-Bluedorn PAC. Dancers will attend weekly rehearsals taught by Aimee Langlas-Landergott, owner of Attitudes Dance by Aimee in Waterloo. The student cast will then join The Minnesota Ballet for performances in November.
"The students represent multiple communities across Iowa, including Arlington, Cedar Falls, Clarksville, Denver, Dysart, Evansdale, Gilbertville, Hazleton, Janesville, Jesup, Manchester, Marshalltown, Masonville, Parkersburg, Shellsburg, Vinton, Washburn, Waterloo and Waverly," says Aimee Langlas-Landergott, owner of Attitudes Dance by Aimee in Waterloo.

The “Nutcracker” tells the story of Little Clara, the young girl who received the Nutcracker as a gift, and her enchanted dream of Princes and Princesses, Sugarplums and Toy Soldiers. Tchaikovsky's romantic score, the colorful scenery, lush period costumes, and skillful ballet performances make “The Nutcracker” a must-see for the holiday season.
