Geographic Alliance of Iowa

CALLING ALL T.C’S OF

THE GEOGRAPHIC ALLIANCE OF IOWA

This is a first for National Geographic. Materials for Geography Awareness Week are on the Web.
The materials found at the National Geographic web site replaces the traditional geography awareness packet.
It is new, it is fun and the ideas, lesson plans and links are AWESOME. Please log-on and use the materials you find.
As an incentive, any TC who shares this site with five (5) other teachers and reports their name and the names of those teachers to Beverly Gindeman-Adams will be included in a drawing for prizes awarded
by the GAI. Don’t miss out!

We also need your help in building the network of members and trained T.C.’s. Here is how you can help:

  1. Participate in Geography Awareness Week and report back to your GAW representative or the GAI office. Be sure to include what you did, how many students you impacted, or fill out the teacher friendly form found on the GAI web site or the form found in your packet of information. National Geographic needs to know how many students are impacted by Geography Awareness Week activities.
  2. If you report back by December 5, 2000 you could win a cool prize.

  1. Contact one person in your school and sign them up for membership in the Geographic Alliance of Iowa.
