Course Objectives

1 The Chamber ensemble experience is a necessary supplement to any large group performance. This is particularly important for the tuba and euphonium students who do not normally get experience performing inner voices and melodic lines and therefore do not experience the intonation challenges presented by such lines.

2 The individual musical challenge is much greater and more satisfying.

3 The medium allows the student to experience an expanded range of
techniques and musical styles.

4 The Tuba/Euphonium ensemble studies a wide range of original music
for this ensemble in a variety of styles. Much of this literature will be of
great use to the students who will go on to teaching careers.

5 The UNITUBA Ensemble presents a minimum of 1-2 concerts per
semester both on the UNI Campus and in the community.

Grading:

The student's grade is based on rehearsal and concert participation and preparation.
