Student Employment

Welcome to the University of Northern Iowa’s Student Employment Page! Did you know that the University of Northern Iowa offers a variety of employment options? Over 2,500 students work on-campus throughout the year, while many others work off-campus in the community as part of our Community Service Learning Program. To learn about the different types of employment opportunities that are available, click here.

Students choose campus employment because of its convenience and the opportunity to work closely with faculty, staff, and other students. UNI student employees develop work skills and employment experience, as well as earn money to pay their educational expenses. Research shows that working on campus can lead to improved academic performance. Other benefits of Student Employment include:

  • Having a flexible schedule that works around your classes.

  • Earning some extra pocket money!

  • Exposure to a professional and supportive academic work environment.

  • Learning and developing valuable work habits, skills, and leadership qualities that will benefit you in your career path.

To begin seeking campus employment opportunities, you may start by viewing the Online Job Board. Here you will find all of the jobs that are available on campus as well as in the community. Visit hiring process, payment, student employment policies and frequently asked questions to learn more about the requirements for securing a campus job.
