National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grants (SMART Grants)

  • U.S. citizen
  • Eligible for a federal Pell Grant (0 to 4110 EFC)
  • Be enrolled full-time in a degree program
  • Major in physical, life or computer science, engineering, mathematics, technology, or a critical foreign language; and
  • Be a junior (60 to 89 hours) or senior (90 to 120 hours)
  • $4,000 per year
  • May only receive one $4,000 award as junior and one $4,000 award as senior
  • Have at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average
  • Grades are monitored each semester prior to disbursement of funding
  • Students must be taking at least one course each semester within their SMART-eligible major
