Distinguished Scholars Award for Incoming FreshmenThe Distinguished Scholars Award is a two-year academic scholarship. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship when they apply to UNI. Recipients receive $1,500 for their first year at UNI, renewable for a second year by maintaining a 3.0 GPA. Iowa high school students who rank in the top 25 percent of their high-school graduating class are eligible for the new Distinguished Scholars Award -- total value of $3,000 -- at the University of Northern Iowa. Students attending high schools that don't track class rank must have an ACT score of 26 or above to be eligible. Incoming freshmen are also encouraged to apply through the Common Scholarship Application to be considered for additional scholarships at UNI. |
