Academic Progress

The UNI Financial Aid Office requires students to continue to make academic progress toward a degree in order to continue receiving financial aid. There are standards for academic progress for each semester, as well as standards for completing a degree within a specific time period.

Academic Assistance

If you are in need of academic assistance please contact the following offices at UNI for assistance:

- Academic Advising (273-3406) can provide assistance to any student who is considering a change in major or needs assistance in selecting a major.

- Academic Learning Center (273-6023) offers tutoring for a variety of classes, as well as Effective Study Strategies and/or Speed Reading courses for free.

- Office of Academic Achievement (273-2361) offers students the opportunity to work with peer tutors in the Math Lab and Writing Lab.

- PAIRS (Peer Advisors In Residence) -If you live in the residence halls the PAIRS are able to provide some assistance. RAs or Hall Coordinators are also valuable resources of information.

- The academic advisor assigned to you within your department is a great resource to answer questions about your major area.
