Fusion UNI

Fusion UNI is a base University of Northern Iowa Drupal 6 theme. Initially, Fusion UNI started as a way to offer a clean starter theme for departments and organizations on campus a base theme that integrates with University branding. Fusion UNI also gives departments the freedom to choose block and menu styles (and more!) based on a predefined list of styles we've created.

Dependencies

• Fusion (Fusion UNI is a sub theme of Fusion)
• Skinr for advanced block, view and panel style configuration
• UNI Blocks for the UNI Toolbar and UNI Footer.

Features

Out of the box, the theme has some really nice features:

Flexible sidebar widths and block sizes

Fusion UNI uses the 960 grid and "grid units" to determine how wide to make your sidebars. When coupled with the Skinr module, you can even change the width and alignment of your blocks!

Flexible UNI block and menu styles

Fusion UNI comes with a variety of block and menu block styles that you can configure through the interface. See the UNI block and menu styles documentation for more information.

Integration with the UNI Blocks global toolbar and footer

Fusion UNI integrates nicely with the UNI Blocks module, which creates the UNI Toolbar and Footer and keeps it maintained.

Sensible defaults

Fusion UNI themes node submitted by information so it's pretty. If you don't like it, you can still change it.

Global search box configuration

The theme allows you to turn on and off the www.uni.edu global search box in the UNI header with a simple check box.

Custom style

Fusion UNI still not enough flexibility? There are two options for you:

A local.css for small changes

If you need to override or add your own CSS, rename the local-sample.css to local.css and add your custom style there. Be sure to backup this file locally! This file will get written over when we update Fusion UNI and you'll have to replace the file on the server.

Sub sub theming

Do you need to do more theme changes than just CSS? You can create a sub theme of Fusion UNI. Drupal.org provides some basic documentation on how to create a Drupal sub theme. We hope to provide some soon specifically for Fusion UNI.

Future updates

We plan to actively update Fusion UNI to include more block, view, panel, and menu styles. We'll also start working on a Drupal 7 version once Skinr 7.x leaves development status.
